What stores would you like to have…?
Hello everyone in our local community,
Just wanted to let you all know that we are here, not just as a center but as a part of the community. We have plenty of parking lot space available for your local or high-school event and we want you to know that we’d be happy to have you here. We also welcome your comments and input on what types of stores you would like to see here at Birch Bay Square. Please feel free to leave a comment with the types of stores you’d like to see here at Birch Bay Square and we will take your comments into consideration when putting together the tenant mix…
Thank you very much

When will the grocery store open??
Also, I’d love to see a paper products store come back into the shopping center. All of my friends and I really miss the store that abruptly left the center recently. That store had no equal either in Blaine or even in all of Bellingham. The Paper Factory had so many things that we all use on an on-going basis. That store was what made many of us drive to the shopping center in the first place.

The grocery store has informed us they are set to open on May 12th! That’s assuming they don’t run into any dilemmas in their final stages of construction. At any rate they will be open very soon!
We were all sad to see Paper Factory close their doors. Unfortunately our store was one of 30+ stores that Paper Factory was forced to close due to economic problems. We are currently looking for a store that will offer similar products and services as Paper Factory to please the many valued customers that shopped there daily…
Believe me we want you to be happy with what BBS has to offer and i believe we have (or will soon be adding) many more reasons for you to make the drive to Birch Bay Square…
Thanks for your input!

A Papa Murphy’s Pizza would be the perfect addition to BBS. That would definitely bring in customers to BBS.
April 10, 2009 at 8:58 am
Imagine that, we agree whole heartedly. We’ve been in contact with Papa Murphy’s local franchise owner and expressed our enthusiasm in having a Papa Murphy’s here at BBS. He is a busy, busy man but i know we can convince him with a little help from you guys. If you want it write in and tell us about it and have your friends and family members write in as well. We’ll go to him with our makeshift petition and get him in ASAP!!!

A beauty store would be great. From wigs to make up and brushes to skin care that the public can shop at.
April 10, 2009 at 1:21 pm
Good thought, we’ve looked into a beauty store and will keep pursuing it now that we know there’s interest. We have signed up a great salon that will be offering many different treatments from permanent makeup to Microdermabrasion, not to mention waxing. They also give one fine hair cut they’re a Toni&Guy support salon so they know there stuff! They also sell a selection of beauty supplies that may be just what you’re looking for…
Thank you!

I would love to see a Claire’s and Fashion Bug

Thanks for letting us know! We’ll see what we can do…

I would be thrilled to have a Carters kids clothing store!!!I occasionally drive down To the Burlington outlet mall to shop at the carters there.I would love to see that at our shopping mall. Also love the papa murphy’s idea! and the party supply store I miss that too so we need one of those.
April 23, 2009 at 2:53 pm
We’ve contacted Land Of Nod which is a wonderful kids store and we are looking into a couple others. Carters is great but they have a couple stores in the area… We’ll work on it!
June 6, 2009 at 7:09 am
Land of Nod would be wonderful!
April 24, 2009 at 6:27 am
Target would be nice!!

I would LOVE to see a pharmacy go in at BBS. Along with the grocery store, a pharmacy is one of the main reasons I need to drive outside of Birch Bay. I don’t know if the new grocery store will have a pharmacy inside, but if not, I’d love to see something like a Walgreens go in.
April 24, 2009 at 1:50 pm
A pharmacy is a big one for us, we’re working on it…
April 24, 2009 at 11:05 am
How about an Office Products store for Blaine, Birch Bay, Custer & north Ferndale residents so we don’t have to go all the way to Bellingham when we need print cartridges?! That might also include products that the Paper Factory used to carry, and so many more things for home office and school student use!
Another store that would probably be a success would be a ROSS clothing store or comparable budget type clothing/home decor store.

We need more nationally known shops, especially a shoe store and a replacement for the paper store we had which many of us loved. I am pleased to know that The Market is coming at last and that Woods has replaced Starbucks. What about an ice cream & candy shop?
May 5, 2009 at 10:12 am
Thanks Laurie! You know…we just spoke with a candy/ice cream shop yesterday so we are definitely on the same page as you!! Thank again!!

I agree with the need for a pharmacy. I don’t know how many more restaurants the Square can support, but a Thai restaurant would be great. The square looks great. Thank you for providing a great shopping center to the area!
May 5, 2009 at 10:10 am
Thank you for your comments and suggestions!! We are definitely looking into pharmacies as well as Thai restaurants… And thank you, we too are very very happy to have provided such a wonderful shopping destination to the Birch Bay area!!!

I agree with a Papa Murphy Pizza store and an outdoor, sporting type place like Yeager’s (in Bellingham)
May 11, 2009 at 9:48 am
Papa Murphey’s is a popular request and we’re gonna do our best to make it happen. I will also stop in and talk to the fine folks at Yeager’s.
May 12, 2009 at 6:17 am
A Quiznos would be great!
May 12, 2009 at 1:54 pm
I think we need a The North Face factory oulet store, being we’re here in the Northwest. A quality outdoor clothing store like The North Face would be a perfect match for BBS.
May 26, 2009 at 3:08 pm
Great suggestion! How would you feel about Helly Hansen?
May 13, 2009 at 10:12 am
Round Table Pizza. If you have other property to build on, it would be great to see an affordable hotel chain like a Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn Express. It would be great to have a place to sent company that is not so far away.

Hello,
I think that a music store would fit in very well. It would be appealing to people of all ages, and it would be easier for us who live in Birch Bay/Blaine. Traveling to Bellingham just to go to a music store is something that nobody wants to do, especially considering the price of gas and the current economy. As I said earlier this will appeal to everybody, especially teenagers seeing as how there is already a coffee place and a restaurant. I think this would make a wonderful addition.
May 26, 2009 at 3:06 pm
Hadn’t thought of a music store. Do you think there would be enough demand for a music store in the community?
May 27, 2009 at 8:03 pm
Yes, I do. It would attract teens from Ferndale, Lynden, and Blaine. It’s closer than going to Bellingham, and it’s a nice place to go after getting a coffee (Woods). It’s a place that people would stop even if that’s not the destination they had in mind.
May 24, 2009 at 4:40 pm
I WOULD ABSOLUTLEY ~LOVE~ HOLLY WOOD VIDEO TO GO IN!!!! ANYONE AGREE?
May 26, 2009 at 3:05 pm
A video store is a fine suggestion. Give us a little time, we’re working on it…

I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see a Childrens Place store and a Gap store. Those are the only stores I drive all the way to the Seattle Premium Outlets for. I would do all my school clothes shopping right here locally if these 2 stores came here!!! Please, Please consider at least Childrens Place for sure, they have great quality clothes at really affordable prices.
Thanks,
Heather

Definitely one of the top requests… I’m on it
May 31, 2009 at 6:14 pm
I would like to see a Robek’s go in where you can get really good smoothies and other healthy foods and a Serena Gellato or Cold Stone ice cream shop. I think Papa Murphys is a great idea as well as bringing back the Paper Factory or something similar. A good quality tanning salon would be great too! Thank you for all that you have done to Birch Bay Square!
June 1, 2009 at 2:20 pm
I think BBS needs more retail that is not located in Bellingham. Try to get some of the same types of stores that people go to Premium Outlets or Seattle to shop at. Eddie Bauer, C.J. Banks, etc. Also, don’t overdue food/restaurant type places. Finished BBS looks great!
June 6, 2009 at 7:14 am
I would love a Blockbuster to go in… I know Blaine’s not far away but I don’t like the area much – BBS is really nice and I’d like to do all my shopping there.
Also a hair salon would be great something like an Aveda salon. And I agree with another post for a pharmacy – nothing to big though – I like how cozy and classy the square feels.
Also a fine chocolatier might be nice too – add to the class of the place and would be great for gifts!

First of all, thank you so much for renovating this outlet mall; it looks great, and it is so nice to have a shopping area like this in the northern part of Whatcom County! It would be great to have the Paper Factory back, as well as a Carter’s (kids’ clothing store); while there is both a Paper Factory and a Carter’s located in the Burlington outlet mall, it is almost an hour away, and it would be much more convenient to have those stores located here in Whatcom County. Thanks again!

I would love to see a good fish and chips restaurant of some kind come to this area. There really isn’t one around and I think it would do really well. Of course the ideal one would be a Red Lobster! Lynnwood is the closest and that is NOT close!
December 4, 2009 at 3:24 pm
I would love to see a Gap Outlet
February 12, 2010 at 5:27 pm
A small movie theatre would be great if the north county can support it.
February 12, 2010 at 7:52 pm
We agree! We have that on our list to try and incorporate in the next phase of construction…Thanks for your input we greatly appreciate it!
